The positive effects of Edmonton's youth movement are starting to show. Jordan Eberle has been at the forefront because of his dynamic scoring abilities, and Tuesday night offered more of the same.
1 Jordan Eberle, Edmonton Oilers – Eberle scored twice for Edmonton and added an assist as the Oilers downed the Nashville Predators 6-2. Devan Dubnyk stopped 30 of 32 shots, while Shawn Horcoff scored twice and Jeff Petry and Ales Hemsky each scored once for the Oilers.
2 Mike Richards, Los Angeles Kings – Richards assisted on Anze Kopitar’s second-period goal and scored one of his own in the third to help lead the Kings past the St. Louis Blues 3-2. He also finished an astounding 15 of 16 in the faceoff circle. Willie Mitchell scored the game-winning goal and Jonathan Bernier stopped 23 of 25 shots.
3 Tim Connolly, Toronto Maple Leafs – Connolly is certainly displaying his worth this season. The former Sabres center scored a goal and assisted on two others in Toronto’s 7-1 drubbing of the Tampa Bay Lightning, giving him six points in his last three games. Tyler Bozak scored twice for the Leafs and Clarke MacArthur, Joe Colborne, Joffrey Lupul and Joey Crabb each scored once, while Jonas Gustavsson stopped 27 of 28 shots.
