Brian Elliott

One reason why the Blues have been on a tear lately has been their goaltending. Many expected Jaroslav Halak to have a strong season, but Brian Elliott has stepped up to give St. Louis a formidable tandem.

1) Brian Elliott, St. Louis Blues – Elliott didn’t have a lot of room for error against the Sharks on Saturday and he shined in his 1-0 shutout, stopping 24 shots, including 11 in the third period to give the Blues the advantage. Kevin Shattenkirk scored the lone goal of the game with time winding down in the first period.

2) Ryan Kesler, Vancouver Canucks – Kesler scored twice and added an assist as the Canucks downed the Ottawa Senators 4-1. Alexander Edler and Dale Weise scored Vancouver’s other goals and Roberto Luongo stopped 24 of 25 shots for his fourth straight win, during which he has given up just five goals (three of which were in one game against the Habs).

3) Milan Lucic, Boston Bruins – Looch tallied three assists in Boston’s 5-3 win over the Blue Jackets, helping the Bruins come from two goals down in the first period. Joe Corvo scored twice for Boston and Nathan Horton, Zdeno Chara and Chris Kelly each scored once.
