Just a couple seasons ago, I remember someone telling me that Claude Giroux was going to be a really special player. I also remember scoffing at the suggestion, asking when he was going to break out. We're not scoffing anymore.
1 Claude Giroux, Philadelphia Flyers – In something that has become commonplace with the Flyers, Giroux was dazzling on Monday night, tallying two goals and an assist on the way to a 5-3 win for Philadelphia. Max Talbot, Wayne Simmonds and Matt Read scored the other goals for Philly and Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 17 shots for the win.

Jhonas Enroth, Buffalo Sabres – With Ryan Miller out, is there cause for concern for his job? If Enroth keeps playing like this, he’s going to make it hard for Lindy Ruff to make a change. Enroth stopped 25 of 27 shots to lead the Sabres to a 3-2 shootout win. Jason Pominville and Derek Roy scored in regulation for the Sabres and Brad Boyes scored the game-winning shootout goal.
3 Tim Stapleton, Winnipeg Jets – What can you do with 8:27 of ice time? If you’re Tim Stapleton, apparently, a lot. Stapleton tallied a goal and an assist on Monday as the Jets downed the Lightning 5-2 (funny how Winnipeg had no problem putting goals on the board against Tampa’s vaunted 1-3-1). Also scoring for the Jets were Evander Kane, Dustin Byfuglien, Andrew Ladd and Mark Flood. Ondrej Pavelec stopped 30 shots for the win.
