Brian Elliott might have been chosen for the All-Star Game, but Jaroslav Halak is still the starter in St. Louis – at least for the time being. Halak seems intent on making the most of it.
1) Jaroslav Halak, St. Louis Blues – Halak was spectacular for the Blues, stopping all 22 shots he faced against the Dallas Stars to get a 1-0 win for his third shutout of the season and his second in three games. T.J. Oshie scored the Blues’ lone goal midway through the third period.
2) Boyd Gordon, Phoenix Coyotes – Gordon scored twice and fired a game-high eight shots to help lead the Phoenix Coyotes past the Colorado Avalanche by a score of 6-1. Shane Doan also scored twice and Gilbert Brule and Rostislav Klesla each scored once, while Mike Smith stopped 38 of 39 shots for the win.
3) Patrice Bergeron, Boston Bruins – Bergeron scored twice in regulation and potted a shootout goal to help lead the Bruins past the Panthers 3-2 in the skills competition. David Krejci scored the winning shootout goal and Tuukka Rask stopped 38 of 40 shots for the win.
