Ryan JonesIf there ever was any doubt about the Edmonton Oilers’ rebuild, it has been dispelled this season. Not only are their top young stars doing what’s expected of them, their role players are now chipping in as well.

1  Ryan Jones, Edmonton Oilers – Jones tallied his first career hat trick in Edmonton’s 6-3 win over the Blue Jackets. Jordan Eberle, Ladislav Smid and Ales Hemsky also scored for Edmonton, and Devan Dubnyk stopped 36 of 39 shots for the win.

2  Jaromir Jagr, Philadelphia Flyers – Jagr scored twice on the power play and also tallied an assist to spoil Bruce Boudreau’s debut game with the Anaheim Ducks. After going down 3-0, Scott Hartnell tallied the tying goal in the third period and Claude Giroux tallied the game-winner in overtime, while Ilya Bryzgalov stopped 19 of 22 shots for the win.

3  Kyle Brodziak, Minnesota Wild – Brodziak keeps coming up big for the Wild. Friday he scored twice in Minnesota’s 4-2 win over the New Jersey Devils. Dany Heatley and Casey Wellman also scored for Minnesota, while Josh Harding stopped all 22 shots he faced in relief on Niklas Backstrom, who left the game after first period due to injury.

Play of the Night

Brodziak puts forth a terrific effort, firing the puck past Martin Brodeur on his third try:

Save of the Night: Al Montoya makes a diving glove save to rob Marcus Kruger of a sure goal. The only problem was that he didn’t make the save with his glove hand:

Minus of the Night

Brodeur was pulled from New Jersey’s game against the Minnesota Wild after giving up three goals on four shots. Ouch.
