Roberto Luongo

One of the downfalls to the new realignment is that some of the rivalries of the younger teams will fall by the wayside. An example of this is the spirited rivalry between the Vancouver Canucks and the Minnesota Wild. The ‘Nucks got the better of Minnesota on Monday night and they put on one heck of a display in the process.

1) Roberto Luongo, Vancouver Canucks – Cory Who? Luongo continued his hot play on Monday night, stopping all 33 shots that the Wild threw his way for his second shutout of the season and his seventh win in his last ten games.

2) Dustin Brown, Los Angeles Kings – Brown scored two big goals for the King on Monday, first scoring to put them ahead in the second period and then scoring the lone goal of the shootout to give the Kings the win. Justin Williams also scored for Los Angeles and Jonathan Quick stopped 31 of 33 shots.

3) Henrik Sedin, Vancouver Canucks – Heading back out to Vancouver, Henrik scored a goal and assisted on two more as the Canucks downed the division rival Minnesota Wild 4-0. Ryan Kesler, Alex Burrows and Jannik Hansen also scored for Vancouver.

Play of the Night

Brad Marchand shows off some terrific hands, beating Carey Price in the third to put the Bruins up by two.

Save of the Night

Jimmy Howard makes a nice glove save on Jordan Eberle on a prime scoring chance.

Fight of the Night

Check out this tilt between Jay Rosehill and Kyle Clifford, because it’s a dandy.
