Joffrey Lupul
The Toronto Maple Leafs are off to a terrific start this season and, the strong play of Joffrey Lupul is one big reason. A natural hat trick – goals three, four and five for Lupul this season – helped him and the Leafs maintain their momentum.

1

Joffrey Lupul, Toronto Maple Leafs – Lupul scored all three of his goals during a seven-minute span in the second period. Joey Crabb and Mikhail Grabovski also scored for the Leafs, while Tim Connolly and Phil Kessel each had a pair of assists.

2

Radim Vrbata, Phoenix Coyotes – Vrbata continued his recent hot streak with the Coyotes, scoring twice in Phoenix’s 4-1 win over the Colorado Avalanche. With the two goals, Vrbata now has four goals and five points in his last two games. Taylor Pyatt and Lauri Korpikoski had Phoenix’s other goals and Mike Smith made 39 of 40 saves for the win.

3

Luke Adam, Buffalo Sabres – The Sabres may have lost 3-2, but Adam was dazzling in defeat, tallying a goal and assisting on Andrej Sekera’s second period tally in a game that saw Ryan Miller chased from the cage after just over six minutes.
