Torrey Mitchell, Patrick Marleau & Brent Burns
The Wild may be atop the NHL with their new additions, but the Sharks are doing just fine with theirs, thank you very much. It was an old hand – specifically, a former captain – in a Sharks uniform that brought them to victory on Sunday.

1 Patrick Marleau, San Jose Sharks – Marleau tallied his fourth career hat trick as the Sharks stormed past the Colorado Avalanche 4-1. Joe Pavelski tallied the other Sharks goal and Marc-Edouard Vlasic had three assists for his second straight three-plus point game. Thomas Greiss stopped 36 of 37 shots for the win.

2  Cory Schneider, Vancouver Canucks – Schneider stopped 28 of 29 shots to give the Canucks a 2-1 overtime win over the Ottawa Senators. Henrik Sedin scored in regulation for the Canucks while Chris Higgins tallied the overtime game-winner.

3  Brad Stuart, Detroit Red Wings – Stuart scored twice for the Red Wings, who kept the ball rolling by beating the Ducks 4-2. Henrik Zetterberg and Johan Franzen also scored for Detroit and Jimmy Howard stopped 32 of 34 shots.
