It’s been a rare thing in the past few seasons for all of the teams around New York City to be on the up swing, but that might just be happening now. Three wins, one goal between the three games and three amazing performances.

1) Henrik Lundqvist, New York Rangers – King Henrik stopped all 27 shots that the Preds threw his way, including 11 in the first period, for a 3-0 win over Nashville. Dan Girardi, John Mitchell and Ryan Callahan scored the goals for the Rangers.

2) P.A. Parenteau, New York Islanders – Parenteau tallied two goals to help the Isles to a 3-0 win over the Washington Capitals on Tuesday. John Tavares tallied the Isles’ other goal and Evgeni Nabokov stopped all 17 shots he faced for his third win in four games.

3) Ilya Kovalchuk, New Jersey Devils – Ilya Kovalchuk tallied two goals in New Jersey’s 5-1 win over the Winnipeg Jets. Petr Sykora, David Clarkson and Patrik Elias all scored for the Devils and Martin Brodeur stopped 20 of 21 shots for the win.

Play of the Night

David Clarkson goes short side, burying this puck to put the Devils up by three.

Fight of the Night

Tim Gleason and Deryk Engelland get together in this energetic tilt that was quite spectacular.

Minus of the Night

Taylor Hall loses an edge during warm ups, then gets stepped on by a teammate. Oops.
