Maybe, just maybe, Bob Murray knew exactly what he was doing when he made all but two players eligible to be traded. The last couple games have seen the Ducks play some pretty good hockey, including Corey Perry on Sunday night.
1) Corey Perry, Anaheim Ducks – Perry tallied a hat trick to lead the Ducks past the Columbus Blue Jackets in the battle of the bottom dwellers, 7-4. Teemu Selanne scored twice and Andrew Cogliano and Saku Koivu scored once to power the Ducks. Iiro Tarkki got the win in his NHL debut, stopping six of nine shots in relief of Jonas Hiller, who suffered a lower body injury in the first period.
2) Ty Conklin, Detroit Red Wings – Conklin stopped 29 of 31 shots to help lead the Red Wings past the Chicago Blackhawks, 3-2 in overtime. Valtteri Filppula, Danny Cleary and Pavel Datsyuk all scored for Detroit.
3) Erik Karlsson, Ottawa Senators – Karlsson tallied a goal and an assist and was plus-5 in Ottawa’s 6-4 win over the Philadelphia Flyers. Daniel Alfredsson, Chris Neil, Colin Greening, Filip Kuba and Nick Foligno all scored for Ottawa and Craig Anderson stopped 33 of 37 shots for the win.
