Jonathan Quick made quite an impression on the NHL earlier this season, posting three straight shutouts in October. Thirteen games later, he posted his league-leading fourth of the season.
1 Jonathan Quick, Los Angeles Kings – Quick stopped all 33 shots he faced, blanking the San Jose Sharks for his NHL-leading fourth shutout. Ethan Moreau and Mike Richards each scored for the Kings as Quick broke a three-game losing streak and won his 10th game of the season.
2 Michael Ryder, Dallas Stars – Ryder scored twice for the Stars, leading Dallas past the floundering Colorado Avalanche 3-1. Eric Nystrom scored Dallas’s other goal and Andrew Raycroft stopped 35 of 36 shots for the win.
3 Niklas Backstrom, Minnesota Wild – Backstrom rebounded from an early exit Sunday by stopping 32 of 33 shots as Minnesota downed the Lightning 3-1. Cal Clutterbuck, Pierre-Marc Bouchard and Mikko Koivu scored for the Wild.
