Pekka Rinne

If you were to compile a list of the goalies on the top of the Vezina Trophy list, Pekka Rinne might not necessarily be up there right now. Lucky for Nashville, Rinne might be sneaking up that list with performances like Thursday night.

1) Pekka Rinne, Nashville Predators – Rinne was sensational on Tursday, stopping all 38 shots that Columbus threw his way, including 18 in the third period, to lead Nashville to a 3-0 win. Martin Erat, Mike Fisher and Shea Weber all scored for the Preds.

2) Evgeni Malkin, Pittsburgh Penguins – Malkin scored twice in Pittsburgh’s 4-1 win over the New York Rangers for his sixth and seventh goals in four games. Chris Kunitz and Richard Park also scored for the Pens and Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 30 of 31 shots for the win.

3) Joffrey Lupul, Toronto Maple Leafs – Lupul tallied three assists in Toronto’s 4-1 win over the Minnesota Wild. Nazem Kadri, Joey Crabb, Phil Kessel and Mikhail Grabovski all scored for Toronto and Jonas Gustavsson stopped 20 of 21 shots.

Play of the Night

Evgeni Malkin dekes around New York’s defense before potting a backhand goal to put the Pens up 3-1.

Save of the Night

Ryan Miller makes this beautiful save to rob Tanner Glass of a sure goal.

Minus of the Night

If it wasn’t bad enough that Jamie McGinn missed the hit on Chris Phillips, the gate in the boards was unlatched. Oops.
