Also scoring for the Bruins were Rich Peverley, Nathan Horton, Chris Kelly and Brad Marchand. Mike Smith, Phoenix Coyotes – Smith was sensational Saturday, stopping all 31 shots he faced, including 11 in the second and 13 in the third, to shut out the San Jose Sharks 3-0. Radim Vrbata, Boyd Gordon and Patrick O’Sullivan scored for Phoenix, which is now in a three-way tie for second place in the Pacific.

Jeff Skinner, Carolina Hurricanes – Skinner tallied a goal and added two assists in Carolina’s 5-3 win over the Sidney Crosby-less Pittsburgh Penguins. Tuomo Ruutu scored twice and Eric Staal and Chad Larose each added one to give the ‘Canes the win. Cam Ward was absolutely stunning in net, stopping 37 of 40 shots, including this beauty on a James Neal one-timer:
