The Rangers have been one of the hottest teams in the NHL, and the recent play of Derek Stepan has been one of the major reasons why. After starting the season with just one point in his first eight games, Stepan has 19 points in his last 19 games, including a terrific outing Sunday.

1  Derek Stepan, New York Rangers – Stepan scored twice and assisted on one more in the Rangers’ 6-1 drubbing of the Florida Panthers in a clash of two top Eastern Conference teams. Brad Richards, Artem Anisimov, Steve Eminger and Marian Gaborik also scored for the Rangers and Henrik Lundqvist stopped 21 of 22 shots.

2  Patrick Sharp, Chicago Blackhawks – Sharp scored in overtime for the second straight game to lead the Blackhawks to a 3-2 victory against the San Jose Sharks. Marcus Kruger and Andrew Brunette also scored in the come-from-behind win.

3  Ray Emery, Chicago Blackhawks – Emery stopped 35 of 37 shots for his second straight win and his third in four games. Over that four-game span, Emery has given up just six goals.

Play of the Night

Stepan starts the play with a great defensive effort, cuts through four Florida Panthers and finishes it with a tremendous shot.

Save of the Night

Antti Niemi shows some great reflexes, robbing Marian Hossa with a beautiful kick save.

Fight of the Night

Brandon Prust and Krys Barch throw down in this spirited fight that sees Barch come away with a slight edge.
