A series of beer commercials once lauded “The Timeout.” It was a clever parody, dramatically recounting fake sports moments in which nothing happened. Craig Smith, Nashville Predators: The rookie scored his fifth and sixth goals of the season, the difference in the Predators' 4-2 win over the struggling Anaheim Ducks. It was the Preds' first visit to Honda Center since last season's playoffs — when Smith was sill in college.

Marian Gaborik, New York Rangers: Gaborik scored twice in the Rangers' 3-2 win over the Ottawa Senators, and seemed to be on the ice at all the right times: He and linemates Artem Anisimov (two assists) and Derek Stepan (goal, two assists) finished plus-3.
3
Henrik Lundqvist, New York Rangers: Lundqvist allowed a pair of goals but stole a few more (see below) from the Senators, who outshot the Rangers 31-19.
Fight of the Night
Braydon Coburn signed a four-year contract extension with the Flyers in the morning. His reward was one round with Steve Downie at night:
Save of the Night
It’s as if Henrik Lundqvist’s glove knew where the puck was going when it entered the zone. Sorry, Erik Karlsson:
Awkward Moment of the Night
Here’s your set-up: The Lightning win the opening faceoff. The Flyers get the puck back. Then. This. Happens:
