It’s always a good night when a goalie gets a shutout, but when you can get an assist with that shutout? All you need then is a fight and you’ve got yourself a Ron Hextall Hat Trick.
1 Carey Price, Montreal Canadiens – Price stopped all 25 shots he faced against the Hurricanes and also tallied an assist in the Habs’ 4-0 win. He assisted on Mike Cammalleri’s first-period goal, while Yannick Weber, P.K. Subban, and Travis Moen also scored for the Habs.
2 Tyler Myers, Buffalo Sabres – Despite the Sabres losing, you could say that Myers responded quite well to his scratching, scoring twice in Buffalo’s 5-3 loss.
3 Marian Hossa, Chicago Blackhawks – Hossa assisted on three of Chicago’s five goals as the ‘Hawks downed the Canucks 5-1. Andrew Brunette, Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews, Patrick Sharp and Steve Montador were the goal-scorers for Chicago and Corey Crawford stopped 28 shots for his ninth win of the year.
