Tim Thomas
With just three games scheduled Wednesday night, the star of the show was undoubtedly the debut of Flyers/Rangers 24/7 on HBO. That’s not to say that there weren’t some NHL stars that didn’t put forth award-winning efforts.

1 Tim Thomas, Boston Bruins – Thomas was absolutely electrifying on Wednesday, stopping a remarkable 47 of 49 shots en route to a 5-2 win over the Ottawa Senators for his first win in 10 days, his 14th of the season. Daniel Paille scored twice and Rich Peverley, Chris Kelly and Patrice Bergeron scored once for Boston in their win.

2  Jonathan Toews, Chicago Blackhawks – In a battle of the Western Conference leaders, Toews had a goal and an assist against the Wild and tallied a shootout goal to lead Chicago to a 4-3 shootout win. Ray Emery stopped 27 of 30 shots and Marian Hossa and Michael Frolik also scored in regulation for the ‘Hawks while Patrick Kane potted this amazing shootout winner:

3  Niklas Hagman, Anaheim Ducks – Hagman scored twice to help lead the Ducks to a 4-1 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes. Rod Pelley and Kyle Palmieri each scored their first of the season and Jonas Hiller stopped 19 of 20 shots for the win.

Play of the Night

Patrice Bergeron picks up an Ottawa turnover and makes them pay with this beautiful goal.

Save of the Night

Mike Smith absolutely robs Ryan Getzlaf from point-blank range with this glove save.

Fight of the Night

Matt Carkner and Milan Lucic get together in this beautiful tilt in the first period of their game on Wednesday.
