Tomas Holmstrom, Red Wings - Homer didn't miss a beat after being left off of the Swedish Olympic squad, coming out and posting a three-point night with a goal and two assists. He opened the scoring at the 6:06 mark with a beautiful wrist shot off of a nifty passing play by Brad Stuart and Pavel Datsyuk, then assisted on both of Detroit's other two goals to lift the Wings over the Avs 3-2.
Nicklas Lidstrom, Red Wings - If the Olympics tired Lidstrom at all, he didn't show it as he posted the game winning goal mid-way through the third and assisted on the Wings' second goal. Not only that, but Lidstrom's goal was his first road goal of the season.
Christ Stewart, Avalanche - Stewart has been one of the many bright spots on this Avalanche roster this season and has continued to impress with his two point night, including his 20th goal of the season. His willingness to go into the corners spurred T.J. Galiardi's second period goal and his heavy shot was the reason for the equalizer in the second.
