First Star: Mikael Samuelsson, Vancouver Canucks - Samuelsson potted all three of his goals in the second period to get the Canucks within one heading into the third and added an assist on Daniel Sedin's empty net tally for the insurance goal. Daniel's brother Henrik had assists on all three Samuelsson goals. The second, a beautiful backhand, pulled the Canucks within two and the third seemed to be the backbreaker with the Avs scrambling after a giveaway by Paul Stastny.

Second Star: Antoine Vermette, Columbus Blue Jackets - After a poor showing against the Los Angeles Kings on Monday, the Blue Jackets rebounded against the Ducks with the help of Vermette's two assists and one goal. He assisted on Derek Dorsett's attempt at a Gordie Howe hat trick on one play, then showed some nice stickhandling to put the Jackets up two with just two minutes remaining in the game and then rubbed some salt in the wound by assisting on Derick Brassard's power-play tally with just seconds remaining in the game.

Third Star: Cory Stillman, Florida Panthers - Stillman stole Minnesota's thunder on Tuesday night, scoring both the equalizer with just over nine minutes remaining in the game and scoring the lone shootout goal by either side. His regulation goal could be a goal of the year candidate, as Steven Reinprecht wound up for a slap shot and Stillman took the puck from in front of his stick and fired a shot of his own, beating Niklas Backstrom.
