First Star:

Sidney Crosby, Canada -
Say what you will about Crosby, but he came up big in the biggest game on the biggest stage. His goal just under eight minutes into overtime was his fourth of the tournament and added yet another feather in the cap of his ever growing legacy. Crosby's goal not only gave the Canadians the gold medal, but it gave their country a storybook ending to their Olympics.

Second Star:

Olli Jokinen, Finland -
After falling behind in the second period to the Slovaks Jokinen put Finland on his shoulders, scoring the game-tying and game-winning goals. Jokinen tied the game on a wicked one-timer from the high slot, then got a long pass from Joni Pitkanen, splitting the Slovakian D and sneaking the puck five-hole on Jaroslav Halak.

Third Star:

Patrick Kane, United States -
After being openly criticized as one of the tournament's biggest disappointments, Kane responded in a big way, not only leading the way over Finland to get the U.S. into the gold medal game, but notching assists on both U.S. tallies in the gold medal game to force overtime. The first was a re-directed shot that snuck past Roberto Luongo, while the second started a scramble that eventually was ended by Zach Parise's game tying goal with 24 seconds remaining in regulation.
