In less than a month, 100 junior-aged hockey players will be pushing themselves to the limits mentally and physically, knowing their futures are at stake.

The NHL recently announced its list of 100 players, all eligible for the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, who will be participating in interviews and grueling off-ice physical tests during the NHL Scouting Combine. The players will participate in the event May 24-29 in Toronto.

Highlighting the list of invitees are the two top prospects for this year's draft, Plymouth Whalers center Tyler Seguin, ranked No. 1 by NHL Central Scouting, and No. 2-ranked Taylor Hall of the Windsor Spitfires. Some of the top players from overseas were also invited, including Finnish forward Mikael Granlund, who is the top-ranked international skater. Top goaltenders attending will include WHLer Calvin Pickard of the Seattle Thunderbirds and goaltender Jack Campbell, who backstopped the U.S. to a gold medal at the World Junior Hockey Championships in January.

This year's draft will take place at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles. The first round is on June 25 and the subsequent rounds will take place June 26. The Edmonton Oilers won the draft lottery earlier this month and retained the first overall drafting position. The Boston Bruins (via Toronto), Florida Panthers, Columbus Blue Jackets and New York Islanders own the second, third, fourth and fifth drafting positions in the first round.
